Separate credits for agent builders acknowledge different consumption

Agent use spends differently from conversation, and one bucket penalised the advanced case.

Separate credits for agent builders acknowledge different consumption

Among the period's announcements, one company began offering separate monthly credits for agent builders, beyond the regular plan limit, available from mid-June.

The decision acknowledges a real difference in consumption patterns. Conversation with an assistant is irregular, with pauses and short messages; an agent in operation makes many calls in sequence, without pause, to complete a task.

Charging both uses against the same limit ended up penalising precisely those building something more advanced, who hit the plan ceiling doing the work the tool was sold for.

There's also a predictability effect that matters to anyone putting agents into production. Dedicated credits allow planning how much automated work fits in a month without affecting the team's interactive use.

For small operations, the useful takeaway is about design before pricing: separating interactive spend from automated work spend inside your own system is what reveals where the money actually goes.
