Anker introduced the Eufy MindBase at the IFA trade fair in Berlin, a local artificial intelligence hub for its security camera system. The device runs a language model developed in-house and processes camera video without sending images to external servers.
The Eufy MindBase is a dedicated hardware unit that eliminates reliance on the cloud for video analysis. The company says all processing happens on the device, which removes the transmission of images to third parties and reduces latency for event notifications.
Alongside the hub, Anker also unveiled other security products for the German fair, including the TrackLight Cam S1, the S4 video doorbell, and a window camera. All devices are compatible with the Matter standard and can be integrated with smart home assistants.
For those running home security systems, the novelty addresses two pain points: privacy, since data does not leave the home, and reliability, because analysis does not depend on an internet connection. The hub should also lower the monthly cost of cloud storage.
